So today was a fresh dose of Burton 2011. Sick. The crew got into some of the new "Flying V" tech and rolled into the new generation of snowboarding. We also today got our new gear from Dragon. Stoked! Thank you! Also 3 new sporks were delivered. Things are looking good, and the crew are amping to build the "All Greased Up Rail Jam" This Friday. Super undercover, come down enter at the base area and shred with your mates. Join the expression session and win some gears. One catch though. You have to vote for someone to go through to finals and no you cant vote for yourself TJ! See you there for a great chance to ride with all abilities. Good times. Last thing for today we were graced with an appearance from Indie. Indie is an all spono'd up terrior that gets to spend many days with Jay from Burton traveling the country and hangin on the snow. Stoked to have seen ya Indie. Till next time. Peace.
Hutt Rats took sunday blues to another level with some hunger for the flat down. TJ, Bruce, Mikey, Yeaboi, and Andy W get it going. Just waiting on this weeks session! Thanks for stoppin bye the park.
Thats right Forum snowboards are bringing the tent and some chilly dogs to the slopes of Mt Hutt on Thursday. Thats right you can test ride the 2011 range from Forum and shred the slopes to pieces on their new technology. One to keep an eye out for is the Scallywag! fine piece of pirate tech. See you up there!
Thanks to Benji Oppan and his crew for a quick flick of the shred at our Mountain. The shots through the park are always welcome. Thanks fellas from the park crew!
This coming week Burton snowboards in coming to town with the 2011 snowboard range. That and some 2011 bindings to test out. Its going to be a cracker, and a great chance to test out the new "Flying V" technology or your favourite camber selection. Just ask one of the Burton crew to spec you up, set you up, and then let you go rip it up! See you Wednesday.
So here is a few pics to see some of the features in the ground and some that are on their way. Thanks to Tim Hailwood for the flicks. http://www.flickr.com/photos/timhailwood/
Real iced coffee came to the party today with free coffee for those first turns in the big park. The smooth flavor of the choc hit went down well with some dub step on the speaker at the drop in. Everyone was stoked and the crew was amping on the turnout. For the rest of the season we will be getting the features swapped in and out on a regular basis so that things keep interesting. To everyone up the mountain today. Thank you. For those planning on coming tomorrow there will be a little bit of choc hit up for grabs if your in early. Thanks to Tararua Real Iced Coffee. Thanks to Tim Hailwood http://www.flickr.com/photos/timhailwood/ . Peace.
Today we tested the big park. A few adjustments to be done however it will be all go for tomorrow. It is looking good and riding well also. We will be opening with 2 jumps, flat down box, flat box, up bar rail, and another flat box. Stoked as from the crew. Thanks to Tim Hailwood http://www.flickr.com/photos/timhailwood/ for the photos.
Graffiti is a type of art that many do not take as an art. I have been involved with it from an earlier time. Some say that graffiti is spoiling society. It dampens the cityscape. I am a firm believer of the cityscape gaining life. Transforming from the every day flat light corner spot to an amazing detailed piece of art. One may look at this as destroying that area of clean space. Yet one may look at it as creating a vibrant creative outside look on what that space could be. I think Zes has some epic flow off the can. I got him in last season to do another piece. It got rolled and was put away. Those who rode it will remember the beauty. However Zes topped the expectation with the latest piece on our newly built 2nd stair feature. Hutt Terrain Park formally thank Zes for the work he did. Stoked to have the box back. Lets get it riding! Photo's thanks to rileybathurst.com
Its going to be a good start to our big park with some more features put in today. I will only add in a couple at this stage but say this. We are going to open on Saturday. Also due to building up the best quality jumps possible we are still gunning on our third of four jumps landing. Thats right we have four jumps this season. Stoked! Opening day will see us get a small jump to medium size jump. Flat down box (with side entries), Flat box, Up bar rail, and a high flat box. We will slowly be adding in features as we can. However due to a couple of our features just arriving yesterday we need to fix our sliding surfaces before they go in. This and we are looking at having a Jib comp next Friday the 9th. So once this is wrapped up the park should be stacked and the jumps shaped. Even still this Saturday is going to be a fun time. Hope you can all enjoy! Thanks to Snowmaking crew, Grooming crew (Todd Main especially), and of course the park crew for their hard work during this first build. Until tomorrow, we will be testing for Saturday. Let you all know the gig. We have also started pushing in the pipe! Thanks to Fish and Zach O for the effort they are putting into the beast. Last but not least welcome back Maa. Fresh from the land of the rising sun Maa is back to help the crew out and get back into some grooming. Good to have you back bro. Peace.
