Swing into HG in Christchurch. Aka - Burton, Forum, RED, Anon, Analog, special blend, foursquare, Gravis, Channel Islands and see the crew. Its about 12.30 and a mysterious box turns up on Joel Nichols desk. Opens it up and Code Red appears. Then the rest of the crew get down on the latest creation and the session started. I left after 15 mins or so but i am sure it went well into the afternoon. Good to see everyone has the skate before food priority right!

Turn Bulls.

The Turnbull boys came and shred the mountain yesterday (Monday)! Matty and Ben Turnbull are some local christchurch fellas who rip it to pieces with an i don't care attitude! It shows in their riding with aggression and control on their boards. Thanks for stoppin bye. Stoked to have had you.

AfterSeason Smash 2009.

So some of you might have seen the write up in Manual Magazine. Maybe not. Well i have to say a big thank you to Jmac who took some time and shot that one for us. So stoked to have had the opportunity to do such a big thing at the end of the season. First up the volunteer groomers Todd Maine and Blair James who wanted to help out. You guys rock! Thank you Thank you Thank you! James Mckenzie, Dave wilson and of course James Coddington. Thank you. It seams not all was run in motion and i wanted to take some time to thank some crew. Stef Z, Quent, Benny C, Ray Ray, Andy Lyal(video Camera man...Hassel him for the footage)!!!!, and of course the support crew. Bex and Kanae. I wanted to share some insight into the jump itself. It was a fun session that got the crew stoked and it was great to see this for the first time. I will stop here and let the photo's speak for themselves. Thank you for the chance to do this. I had a great time. Until spring 2010...

Opening weekend 2010.

So we are OPEN! It is cool to have seen all the support over the weekend... Including Ash Guthrie and Andy Wilde two crew who had been working last season and known as some of the founding fathers along with many. The likes of Stevie Bell were even spotted i hear. Still after Saturday bringing the winds and Sunday bringing snow we had an epic opening and have a mini park on the roll. I know the die hards are keen on some tech features. I am too. But we have to keep things in that park on the mellow to look after those who are just getting into what we love. Three weeks or less until we can cater those features you have all been craving. I am sure those who made the journey have seen the snow guns blazing each and every day. Thanks to the snowmaking crew for their hard work. So i guess those who could not make it want to read up on what we have. Well its starts with 2 small boxes, a flat ride on box and a semi down box, to a ride on flat down box or small down bar rail, then into the jump, and finally 2 rollers to butter up the storm. I will leave it here. I will upload some better pics during the week. Thanks to everyone who got involved this weekend. Especially No#1 "keen as beans" TJ!. Catch you soon.

TonightToTomorrow.

Another long day prepping things for the park. Mini park tomorrow should be on the go. Just hoping for good weather. Its cool to see things taking shape and the crew have put in some good, fun, yet easier features for opening day. I will let you all judge the call on what they came up with. A lot of digging went down and it's back up the hill for me at 3.30am to finish off the park for opening. Thanks to Mikey who will be joining me and the biggest asset to our parks grooming Todd Maine who has put in a HUGE effort as usual. Another positive for today was getting 4 of the features we were waiting on from our main man Piers. A good sight to see them almost ready to go. Final touches and a groomed out big terrain park should show some good courses come to the mountain. Cant wait for a day off, but at the same time so stoked to see the changes every day. Thanks again to the crew. Hard work will pay off! Shred on!

A Couple of Early Morn.

So early mornin has always got to get ya amping. Rollin up the mountain and having a look at the snow covered mountains. We move in and out of an environment that changes within hours on a daily basis. I love the mountains. They have given me the opportunity to experience something that puts me in my comfort zone every day. To feel the board under your feet in any way that suits your personal riding styles. Park, Pipe, Powder, or the Groom! It is all an expression of the rider. We all in the crew share different styles. No need to shut down one or the other... We do it for our own reasons but we are all here for the same. A few pictures from today when rolling up in the van. We moved all our features out onto the hill ready for transport. We have 4 more new features coming up the mountain tomorrow and 2 more being built. Tomorrow is building the mini park for opening. Stand by. One day to go. Lets all hope for good calm bluebird weather.

ThreeDays ToGo!

So three days out and still a lot going on to get everything ready. There are many things to do in the park that i am sure would be missed by many. Grooming pushing snow all day without cutting shapes, fencing, rail/box prep, gear inventory, park designing, snowmaking, and of course the reason we are here. SHREDDING! I guess it is fair to say we are keen to see this open! Thanks to Dave and James, Todd Maine for pushing the park today and the next few, Fish for giving us the hours, Blair for cranking the guns in the big park!!!! Of course not to mention the crew - Andy, Ray, Mike for all the hours they have been putting into getting it going! SHOT BOYS! A few pics from today including the ride up, fence building, view from the park gate, and our last ride down before we drove home. Thanks for the day. Tired but so stoked to see the progress!

So the boys from Qtown came up at the end of last season and did an episode of Dairies Downunder. Big thanks to Buggs, Nick, Stef, and Jordan for coming by and shredding in the park. Hope to see them again this season. So to get you amping for this saturday, cha cha check it out...
