The Storm has been.

So throughout the week we have had winter hit us! I think we can all agree this is good news! Well i think so anyways. We have had just shy of 1 meter up high and over 1/2 a meter on the lower area. I know all the powder hounds are making their way up there as i write this. I mean for many the summer has been a long one. I hope that the turns are a plenty and the shred is good. As far as i can see when back in NZ and based at Mt Hutt i have the chance to produce a park with a dope crew. To me this snow is welcomed. Not only for the powder lines but for a potential great start to the season again! I will push for some style of rail and box line that is soon to be at the hands of many keen Cantabrians. Hold tight, not long now. The snow has spoken...

OnepointFour Halpipe 2009.

So we did get the pipe going last year. Couple of shots of Ben Comber and a plant from Ash Guthrie. The pipe last year had some good days go down. We will be pushing it again from early season. Thanks again to rileybathurst.com for the flicks.

28.5.10

OnepointThree Michael McCloy.

So yet again some more flicks from rileybathurst.com. In these Mike McCloy doing a couple of black and whites. Also from a night sesh early in the 09 season a one foot cone gap. Mike has been shredding the local here at Mt Hutt for some time. As a Cantabrian and park enthousiest it made sense to be involved with the park crew.

Another day. Some more SNOW.

So we got down to the office early to find out we had received some snow. Good news! We carried on with painting ply for features and welcomed some help from our second returner from last season. Mikey. Mikey has been recovering from a shoulder injury from last season. He has come a long way and now is back on the team. Good to have you back bro. The last shot of a Doms pizza. Man he pulled it off again today. tasty as!

Features 2.0 / Painting.

So Today we got Ray Ray back on the crew! Straight into Mitre 10 Mega where Debbie hooked up the paints as usual. We also went into see our man Piers working on the new park features. Taking shape and looking EPIC! Banging them out quickly with a lot of progress since last week. Then we got into some painting once we were back in Methven.

Moving.

The second groomer to be put on the back of a truck. Pretty good sight to see that happening. means we will need them soon and with this weather hitting tonight i'd say we should be putting them to use rather soon! Just waiting for the first bluebird day! Yeaha!

OnepointOne shots from 2009.

Some flicks courtesy of Riley Bathurst from the 2009 season. He is a local shredder who has been through the poly system studying design and photography. These shots of the mountain at full potential and the stair set we built up. The stair feature will be back again soon. I cant wait!

A Sayonara BYJ.

So when you get one of your team riders giving you the heads up on some shred time in a Christchurch back yard you have to go check it out. A good by for one Tim Bathurst, and a shred for Ben Comber my fellow Burton team and Mt Hutt Park team rider. It was cool to see some pre season hype! Just let the photo's speak for themselves! Thanks to Andrew Berryman for the flicks.

Painting.

Got started on a feature today that our #1 park groomer Todd Maine fixed up while working over summer. He did a good job too. This 6m round bar rail to be set street. Should be good for opening day if things pan out. Oh and a mask is a good investment if your painting quite a bit. Tad Fumey!

New Features.

A quick trip to the workshop to see the man Piers who has been working on some features for us. Still a wee way to go but things are starting to take shape! Sorry i can't disclose what they are just yet. You will have to come check it out for yourselves when they arrive on the mountain.

A shot of the mountains. True inversion today.

The Shelter.

So Methven has a skate park. Its called the shelter. Trev Ponting has been behind it for many years now and has done quite the job. When there is nothing to be done after work or on a day off with bad weather this is the port of call. A dope indoor skate facility with a homely vibe. Any chance to get down and check it out is well worth it. Today was the first of many skates this winter. A wee bit rusty but stoked to have such a place to push me back into it! Thursday nights from here on in as long as Trev gets involved!

The Workshop.

So downtown we have a workshop where things have been getting a mechanical workover. Rob T has been putting in a heap of time to get the mountain machines and vehicles sussed before opening. Here are a few flicks of the machines he has been working on. Will be great to see them back on the mountain soon.

The workshop.

Rob T and Fish Get into some cleaning.

There is always a watchful eye on the shop. Nothing gets by this one.
