TodayTomorrowToday.

So another long day pushing our day park groomer Todd to his last batteries! He killed it and we have made some progress today. I am stoked on the flow we are looking at so far in the parks. It is unreal what the earthworks and snow guns have achieved. That, and the solid hours the snowmaking crew, grooming crew and park crew together have put in to make it all come this far. I want to thank Kerri who tonight is moving some new items up the mountain. Its a sketchy set up but bro you have it dialed! Thanks a million. I have attatched a few pics of what we have goin on. Pretty rad to see the course taking shape! Back up at 4am to get it all going again! Yuuus!

Big Park Start.

Today we continued moving snow around in the big park. some features are starting to appear and the jump line is starting to take shape. Everyone is amping on the shred very very soon! Thanks Tim Hailwood for the flicks!

GRAFF.

Today we got the one and only Zes in house to do some Graff for the TP crew. The newly built stair feature has a little more length and some more build to it. Looking even better now! We got some flicks and we are sorting them out now. So hold tight to see some tight Graffiti action soon. Back up the mountain early tomorrow morning to start moving the features around to get them ready for the big park. Just a couple more days to go. Hope the weather cooperates!

Sun, early morning, and grrooming continued.

So today was an early start to the day. up at 4am and straight into the park with Todd to put in all the boxes for opening today. Its always a struggle to get out of bed at those early hours but it was worth it in the end when the sun came out for the day. After we were open the grooming fleet continued in the big park pushing the jump line. Snow guns were also blowing into the pipe to start building up base. Then Mikey and i went down to the toll gate and finished off boxes. A long day and kind of glad to see the end of it. Thanks to everyone for todays hard work. See you tomorrow for another sunny day.

PipeParknPow!

So today the crew did not end up doing a lot. Fish and Todd Main did the most work in cats getting going in the big park and mini park respectively. Thank you fellas! The rest of the bunch took some time off to go and shred the pow. Hope you enjoyed it guys tomorrow brings work in all force! The cool thing is... Todd and i get to go up the mountain at 5am to finish off the mini park! We are cool about it, just keen to get things going for you guys / girls to rip to pieces. A bit of a mix up tomorrow as we prepare for a couple of new features later next week. Sorry just wait and see! I have thrown in a couple of shots from today. One of Towers first thing this morning, another of the pipe looking towards the third and fourth terraces. Snow guns are still blazing tonight in the park and first night tonight for the pipe. we should have a 3 week turn around (or less) for all to be ready to ride. Be patient we are almost there and only have more snow to play with! Stoked! See you this weekend. Peace.

Everything Out.

So i would think that anyone reading this blog would know about the snow we received. If no, well we did. 65cm i believe. It was crazy getting to the resort first thing and looking at what had fallen, and what was still falling. The machines in full swing clearing decks and steps before anyone got there. It was a quick turn around with several keen boarders and skiers lining up to get amongst the powder. For most a powder day is the day to call off work. To buckle on the every day duties of the office and get up in the mountains. For the park crew its the day of hard work, although lucky for us today was not as bad as it might have been in 1 week. The beginner park was loaded and we pulled out the boxes and rail to give way for some rebuild action. It is of course always welcome as we can now build up more of what you want. The options are a plenty. I hope you can enjoy some of these pictures. If you were not up there today don't sweat it. Tomorrow is another day and there is plenty of untracked to go around. Until tomorrow. Thanks for reading.

Snow.

So after it started snowing last night we received some snow on the mountain (40cm so far). This is good! Still just now its started up again and i think we are now in the grips of the second front, which i am sure you all know has dumped all over Queenstown and the southern lakes region last night. So i am going to call it now. I am sure we will get another 40cm out of this if not more. Still this is only my call... stay tuned and i will update as soon as i know some depths.

Snowing.

It just started snowing in Methven. Keep on falling snow! Keep on falling!

Packdown.

So today Fish got the winch out and got packing on our 3rd jump terrace. A good sight to see as this guy is the business for winching! Moving snow left, right, up and down to ensure we are ready to start up our big park build on Thursday. Apparently the weather found out what we are planning and is looking like 50cm's or more if we are lucky to add to our wet solid packing snow all thanks to Blair and the crew in snowmaking. We as park crew rely on these guys so much and to have such a skilled crew makes our job that much easier. Thanks to the crews work to date for our set up. Too many legends to name.

Wilde Status

Andy Wilde starts up the Wilde Status video blog posts for his crew back in China. Andy was on our team last season and i wanted to bring him onboard to this blog for his updates shredding our hill. For those who do not speak the Chinese language this is a great relaxed way to start up to basic slang 101 and see some fun time snowboarding. Thanks for the hook up Andy, keen to see more. Welcome anytime.

TwoNew.

So the new kids on the block rolled off the plane in Christchurch today and made the strenuous drive for 1 hour (thats right 1 hour) to the local town Methven. Straight to the skate park to meet up with all the crew and share a couple of stories. I officially welcome Zach Ostrander and Tim Hailwood to the Mt Hutt Terrain Park Crew! sick...

Rays Space.

Ray is an all round shredder from the streets of Christchurch he joined the crew in 2009. Ray has just been hooked up by Forum and Special Blend. Good stuff bro! Here is a couple of snaps from last year on the 3rd table. Thanks to rileybathurst.com .

Plastic Fix.

So today was again another perfect day of clean weather. Ha yeh i said that. Clean. Anyways the Thursday crew got together ran a shape and straight into Hubers Hut for a brekky. They do the meanest plate of bacon, eggs, hashies, mushies, sausages, and a boat load of sauce if your name is Rene Ribitton! But still i have to say for $14 it would feed two small people easy. Once we were full to the top Ray and i rolled down to our info booth (bottom car park) and kept charging on our features. Fixing ply to steel, then plastic to ply. Super hot but we got two boxes done today. 4 more to go then we are good to go in the big park. Keep ya'll posted. Peace.

Hike Sesh.

Today was mint! Such an unreal day of no wind, chalky groom, and many friends. The park was stacked with hikers from all areas. They got their hike on for several hours. Great to see everyone up there! Same tomorrow...Clear and Calm weather! Boom! see you there...
